These Calendars Go To 'Eleven'

Previously we had an eight-calendar limit. As of tonight the limit on the number of calendars that can be selected to sync has been increased to 11.

(Some readers may need to watch this).

That's cool. How about the calendar color issue?

Why eleven? I mean, that's a great feature addition, but, from a programming standpoint, why eleven (not power of two, etc.)

They want to beat Google Sync, which is restricted to 5 Calendars currently. I think thats the point =)

ELEVEN? ... That's one more than TEN! That means one more calender to sync than ten. Other sync providers are stuck at their lower limits, but we can go higher and better!

If you watch the video you will know why eleven is the number....It is just one more than 10!

Can also say "More than twice the number of synced calendars offered by Google. "

But they already had more than Google Sync (they had 8!)

To resolve Calendar color issue:
a. create new calendar, it should sync to your device with a new color
b. edit your old schedule in google and point/set it to the new calendar that you've created
c. once you've edited all, remove old calendar

Tip:
Create in google a "New Schedules" calendar so whenever you want to add a schedule via your mobile device, you just need to set it temporarily under "New Schedules" calendar. Once this is in sync with your Google calendar, you can then edit in google and set it with your desired calendar. This way, you won't mess the calendar colors in your device. This is just a workaround for me. Hope this gets resolved soon by nuevasync guys. Thanks nuevasync! Awesome service you have here.

Thanks Nuevasync. This is now sufficient for me (for now of course!).

Google Sync is restricted to 1 if you have a WinMo device. NuevaSync rocks!

12=4!-1, factorials are often present in increasing network complexity and -1 because we're on computers where counts start at 0.

I just tried your service while I previously used OggSync because I'd prefer to have 1 sync service (ActiveSync) running instead of 2.

It duplicated all my calendars on my mobile device (thank god not on Google Calendar) and I had to manually remove it. I can only guess it's because of lack of category->calendar mapping between WM and Google Calendar. So, I decided to hold off until you guys work out the kinks a bit more.

@DWarrior: it sounds like you may have had calendar events on the device before configuring sync. In that case we don't attempt to correlate those events with your Google content (to do so is something of a science project and not something that makes sense to do in the bowels of the sync service). Therefore we recommend that sync is setup with an empty store on one end (either device or Google). We do have a de-duper tool on the web site (which is a science project!) that can be used in a situation like yours.

Can someone put up a new bloc post? I have been directing folks here that are dissatisfied with Gsync. The last post is nearing 30 days and I don't want people to think that this is no longer being supported.

When is the color problem going to be fixed and what is causing it? Now, two of my calendars have switched to that awful cyan color. I only have five calendars total.

Sonata Singers said...

One thing I noticed about that awful cyan calendar is that it changes to that color once you try to add/edit a schedule through your iphone/itouch. The moment it syncs, BANG!, your color setting on that particular calendar changes to that. That's why i created a calendar called "New Schedules" so that I can just add a new schedule to that calendar from my iphone/itouch. But there are just times that I forget though and start to edit a schedule from a different calendar other than my "New Schedules" calendar. Quite frustrating but there seems to be no permanent solution at this point.

According to a faq about googles sync, more than 5 calendars leads to the shifting color issue.

This will probably flood the nuevasync servers, but, temporarily turning off calendar syncing on the iphone resets the colors to non-cyan.
