BlackBerry Support

No, not an early April fool's joke. It's possible to use a BlackBerry device with Nuevasync. An intrepid user told us that they were able to sync (apparently without trouble) using Astrasync. Now, we're not exactly sure if this is a useful capability for BlackBerry users, since there's already a supported Google sync solution, but we thought it was at least worth mentioning here.

I cannot sign into my account either. "Invalid User Name or Password, please try again.
Please ensure Caps Lock is off." I have had this account for a while now and I use foxmarks so I am not typing the password wrong. I would like to sign in to fix my connection to Google. THANKS!

We had a server incident earlier today. The problem has been resolved.

I'm backing Dan's earlier request: When will you finally implement support for multiple calendars - i.E. the most requested feature?

Jack said...

This has nothing to do with the blog post, but I discovered Nuevasync today and am using it to sync GCal with my iPhone. It works perfectly - thanks a lot for this great service! Multiple calendars would be nice but I'm just glad that I can get the two working together.

I do have a question: would this IMAP service that you plan to implement support pushing email to the phone?

Never mind, I should have read the FAQ :)

Final word on Nuevasync: I stopped recommending nuevasync.com to my friends and colleagues since there have been absolutely NO NEWS about multiple calendar support! If Nuevasync would really be working on it they'd most likely have a roadmap and they'd be able to tell users when they can expect to get that feature. It's absolutely not fair to let users down in such a miserable way - even if it's a free service.

Chris, I may be more optimistic than you.

I've seen nothing but honesty and dedication from the the folks and Nuevasync, and my assumption is that they're working on a variety of projects, including multiple calendar support, contact sync issues, stability, etc.

I suspect that, given limited resources, these improvements will take time. I agree that a verbal "we're working on it" would make us all feel better, but even without that reassurance, I'm pretty sure they're hard at work to improve things even more.

Would also like some response from NuevaSync. I had been recommending this like crazy --- but now since I can't sync my contacts or calendar with my iPhone anymore, I have to admit that it's lost a little bit of the 'wow factor'. Let me know what's up!

I think Nueva is doing a GREAT job. They have done a great job addressing issues quickly.

I think they might have been caught up with issues so they couldn't work on the multi-calender.

Nueva does check comments though. So if we just keep on requesting Multi-calender we should get it.

Nueva! Give us Multi-Calender! please!

MY WIFE HAS MULTIPLE CALENDAR SUPPORT!

I just signed my wife up for a Nuevasync account yesterday and voila, multiple calendar support on her iPhone. I didn't even realize what I was missing on my iPhone until I saw this feature on hers!

Mine still doesn't have this feature. I might delete my phone's exchange account and reconnect it to see if this feature comes to life. If that doesn't work, I might just sign up for a new Nuevasync account.

Sweet. And to whoever has put together Nuevasync. Wow, and thanks.

Just wanted to confirm... Multiple Calendars IS working!

I had to delete your Nuevasync.com account and sign up for a new one to get it to work. Login > Account settings > I want to delete my account > delete my account now.

I signed up for a new account, and Multiple Calendars are working!

Thanks again Nuevasync!

I can confirm Ryan's steps worked for me as well! Multiple calendars and a happy new year indeed!

Multiple calendars up and running

Thanks again Nuevasync

My guess is that Nuevasync would prefer that we all don't start deleting our accounts and making new ones. So...

DAVID, please will you post the correct way of establishing multi cal support? Like other posters here, I'm really anxious for this enhancement.

Thanks for the continued great service!

Multical will be enabled for all accounts in the next 24 hours or so. We can't enable for all users in a big bang because it involves a resync which we believe would overload the servers if done for all users all at once. The enabling has to be phased in order to preserve working service for everybody during the transition.

I jumped the gun already and re-created my account to access multiple calendars (sorry).
However, I don't see all of my calendars anymore (8/9 are showing up). Is there a maximum number of calendars able to be synced?

How do we go about getting support for issues? I've sent email to the support address, and all I got was a form response. I've been several days now without contact sync because of "corrupt data" in my google account, and I'm flying solo here. I have no way of figuring out what data exactly is corrupt, and how. Exporting contacts, deleting them, and re-importing them isn't fun either because exports don't maintain group information (I got bitten pretty hard by that).

I've loved the service so far, but man it's painful to not have *any* contact info on my phone. I barely know my own mother's phone number, so my phone is basically an iPod now.

David Boreham said...

@aggieben : we're working on a new feature for the web site that will check your contact data and flag any unparsable content (I believe this is the problem you have -- the data Google sents us won't even parse in their own client library because it is not valid XML). Unfortunately this data checking feature isn't finished yet. Hopefully it'll be done later this week. We try our best to support users but we're working with limited resources at present.

@David B.: I totally get the limitations of Google's API (although their Contacts API 2.0 just came out, didn't it?). Thanks for the update.

Does anyone know about a howto to guide me through setting up Nuevasync on my BIS BlackBerry?

Thanks.
