Contact Sync Status

There are quite a few blog comments here suggesting that contact sync just isn't working at present. As far as we are aware contact sync is working normally. We can sync contacts on test devices, add contacts on each end and everything seems ok. There are situations in which the iPhone will delete all its contacts and then re-fetch the contact list from our service. If for some reason it can't contact the service at that point then the device has an empty contact list. It's possible that this event has been happening more often than normal, or that there's some reason why the re-fetch isn't working. We'd expect devices to catch up again and retain their contact list.

Update: if you have no contact sync (or indeed no calendar sync) please send a message to support@nuevasync.com with subject 'I have no contacts (or calendar)' and include your Nuevasync username and the number of contacts in your list if you know that. There may be some account-specific problem and we'd like to investigate some affected accounts. Thanks.

I lost contact sync this morning, but at least I'm able to use iTunes to sync with Google directly. This afternoon I lost Calendars at well, so now I have zero items on my iPhone calendar. Not cool!

I am one of those for whom contacts is not working. I turn them off/on on my iphone, then start up contacts and the tranfering-data icon comes up for about a minute but no contacts get downloaded. I am on a wifi cable-modem connection.

of course, as soon as I left that post, Calendar items started working again. Contacts still not there though.

I lost the contacts the other day. I finally got them back when I logged into my NuevaSync account just now and noticed that the icon by my contacts was red, indicating a problem synchronizing.

My contacts are syncing, but I have 2 problems:

1. Nuevasync places the address on the first street line, and the city, state, zip, and country on the second street line, without using the "City," "State," and "Zip code" fields. This isn't a huge deal because it looks normal until you go in to edit the address. If you fix it on the phone, then after it syncs with Google the address is in there twice.

2. When I delete a phone number from a contact on my phone, it doesn't delete that contact on google contacts.

Nuevasync is an amazing service.

I just loaded this and my google calendar is syncing correctly. Can I sync my google contacts too?

I would like to suggest exploring the capacity to sync contact groups with your service.

Btw, I just tried it, and I love it. GOOD JOB NUEVASYNC! Keep up the good work!

I just synchronized all contacts with Google Contacts. The contacts on my phone had to be deleted but luckily enough, I had an online backup of all the contacts (O2 UK Bluebook) and I used SyncML to synchronize everything back. The contacts on my Gmail are not correct, but due to what I just did (synchronize with Bluebook) I just updated Google Contacts with the correct details ;). Everything is working fine so far, great job!

Cheers!

I've been without contacts on my iPhone for a week now. Nuevasync's site gives me green lights for everything, and the sync status says OK. However, on the detailed sync page it says "will sync" for my contacts. I've tried everything; deleting accounts on my iPhone, deleting all the contacts in gmail and importing again, disabling and re-enabling via the nuevasync website. Nothing works. I've started looking for other solutions for syncing my contacts with my iPhone over the air, but there is simply nothing else out there....

Contacts don't sync for my wife's 2nd gen iPod Touch, but they do for my 2st gen iPod Touch. I've done all the stuff suggested in the blog and, basically, her iPod Touch's contact list just remains empty.
