Thank you very much for your service! Your app is great. I'm also willing to pay for it when the IMAP-Push-Gateway is ready ;)

Sincerely

Six! I started using NuevaSync last night for Google calendar & iPhone 3G. Wow wow wow, this is perfect. It perfectly fills a big hole in the iPhone's capabilities. The Google calendar's mobile interface is primitive (can't edit or delete events, only add them), but the iPhone Calendar app is full-featured. NuevaSync creates a perfect correspondence between the Calendar app & gCal! Thanks so much guys.

I'd still love for addresses to sync correctly with google contacts (it still puts the city/state/zip on a second street line).

All the colors have yet to sync up but I'm still loving the service!

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this...Last night after saving an event I was editing, my main calendar changed from red to a terrible aqua blue with white font!?!
Other than that everything works great!
Great job. Thanks guys.

Hi guys, I really like your service, especially multi calendars. Contacts syncing needs some more work, and I know you're onto it.

I second the comment to get contacts syncing properly to the correct fields in the Contacts app. I live in Australia, and because contacts synced from GMail aren't stored in the right fields, the integration with Google maps is all messed up.

When I tap on an address in contacts, the Maps app launches, but I often get United States appended to the Australian address, resulting in the Maps app stating "No results found".

Guys I always get a "System error. Please try again later." for a few days now. I am syncing contacts on my Nokia E71 and Gmail Contacts. The status on your site is green and says the sync is successful.
Nokia phone (ID: IMEIXXX), sync status is: OK
(data was last transfered 6 minutes ago)

But I have only one contact in my phone and three in google contacts (I am testing with three contacts).

@vasanth.in: This is a known issue with the current version of Nokia's MFE client (older releases work). We're investigating this and when we figure out the problem it'll be fixed.

Hello all

I am posting here parts of my e-mail i sent to the nuevasync support. as answer until now i sadly only received the auto-response. nothing wrong here since the service is free.
i would like to ask you all if you can help me.

Hi

First I have to thank you for your free and great service, i really like
what you're offering. Keep on going.

I have a problem since yesterday. I tried to get the different colored
calendars on my iPhone. It didn't work at all, so i deleted all the
calendar settings on my iPhone. Now my iPhone doesn't show my schedules
anymore, just a completely blank calendar.
I checked every manual on your site and did all the troubleshooting you
posted (each about 10 times at 3 different days over 2 weeks), but from your side it seems like everything is allright, the calendar option is marked green on nuevasync.com. My
iPhone doesn't give any "critical" error messages. After doing the settings and
typing in my nuevasync account info it gives me the typical error
message but it still seems to connect somehow since it asks me for the server
address (www.nuevasync.com).

I am using a primary and a secondary calendar on my gmail account, the
iPhone has the 2.2.1 firmware and is NOT jailbroken. On my desktop
computer i use the Zindus addon for lightning. Thats about everything related to gmail and my iphone.

I really dont know what else i could do, PLEASE help me.

Since your service is free i would still be extremely thankful for help
as soon as possible.

thanks, diego

any update on contact groups?

David Boreham said...

@Diego: I believe we were able to track down your ticket and your account. Your problem required some software archeology! You were one of the first 1500 users to register with Nuevasync and your account never converted to use OAuth. You should have received an answer to your ticket by now and hopefully you're syncing again.

David Boreham said...

@Ameet: we won't have contact group support for a while.

Any update on push gmail

"I'd still love for addresses to sync correctly with google contacts (it still puts the city/state/zip on a second street line)."

I agree, this would be a nice fix in the next update.

@David Boreham:

WOW...it works again. Whats best, with colors.

A HUGE thank you to all the nuevasync staff from my side. You guys have no clue how much i love your service and appreciate the help i received. Right now i even feel bad for not paying for your work, you really deserve to get monetary recognition.

btw: belonging to the first nuevasync users is nice to know:).

Thanks again,

Diego

excellent. now sell your service to apple for some big $$

Andrew Davis said...

A fantastic service guys. Agree with others that you should absolutely be bought by Apple or Google (if that's what you want).

Thanks heaps!!

Benjamin Meyer said...

Selling to apple is a good business idea but don't. They'd just mess it up.

I keep getting this error "There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on your device. Please perform a manual sync." since 8:51 today, it worked before (as it synced) and then I edited my google calc and now nothing! It keeps showing that I have 4 contacts to sync, it does 3 then gives me the error.

I love this service! I was actually excited to hear Paul Thurrott mention it in passing on a recent episode of Windows Weekly.

I use a Windows Mobile device with multiple calendars. I have moved over from using oggsync so I realized that I am comparing two different applications. I used to be able to have the calendars separated by category in Pocket Outlook and that corresponded with the appropriate Google Calendar. Therefore, if I create a new event on my Smartphone with a particular category, it would populate the correct calendar on Google. Just a wish. Right now it seems to just create events in the default calendar.

Second, I was wondering if there were any plans to implement a regular forum for comments and technical support issues. I would be willing to assist in getting it started and running.

Thanks!

Hey, heard about this service on a number of podcasts as a great way to sync google to my windows mobile phone. Like it so far but still have to experience it. Have one big question though, are tasks going to sync to my phone from google in the near future. I would be in heaven if you guys offered this. I haven't been able to find anyone that syncs tasks to the cloud let alone with my already used google account.

Vinicius said...

Waiting the push gmail, it'll be awesome.

Just a question, will Nuevasync be a paid service in the future? hope not

Unknown said...

Yes, I have to also add my voice to the choir - I am more then happy to pay for Neuvasync once push Gmail is enabled.

Exceptional job!

Patrick said...

As long as the cost is reasonable, I have no problem with Nuevasync becoming a paid service (after it rolls out gmail push). Its to everyone's benefit that the service become financially viable and therefore around for the long haul.

David Boreham said...

A few responses:

Anyone having sync trouble should send e-mail to our support team. They're doing a good job keeping up with the new requests and that's the best way to get your problem resolved (rather than commenting here where we don't know your username and can't reply).

We don't do the thing where categories are mapped to calendars in Google on Windows Mobile devices. We may add this in the future.

Task sync is coming, but I'm not able to say when (because I don't know).

Correct address parsing for iPhone contacts is being actively worked on and should be fixed soon.

We do need a forum site, we just haven't quite got around to deploying one yet.

Great stuff - I recommended NuevaSync to all the other iPhone users I meet, including those struggling with native apps that try to sync with Google calendar but fail miserably (e.g. SimpleTime).

I am sorry Nuevasync Team, but:

Bad news for the great guy at Nuevasync: Google started to offer the same service, that's syncing calendars and contacts natively for iphone and dozens others. I think this practically put Nuevasync out of business.

Any progress on the IMAP Push? Will it only work off of Gmail/Google Apps account or just any IMAP account?

Vinicius said...

The google sync still doesn't support multiple calandars

Dave R. said...

Hi I love what you guys have done. I am wondering now that google has released their own sync tool what is next for your product?

Responding to Vinicius..

I tested this to see if it works..
and it does... including multiple calendar support..

Don't shoot the messenger... I loved using Nuevasync...

Please tell me you guys and your great service got swallowed by google and released as m.google.com/sync!

If not I am sorry. You guys deserved it - Fantastic service.

Dean Kaden said...

Google Sync does support multiple calendars, 5 in fact. However there is one known issue that would certainly stop me switching switching.

"Limited Contact Information
The iPhone can synchronize up to 3 email address. Phone number synchronization is limited to 2 Home numbers, 1 Home Fax, 1 Mobile, 1 Pager, 3 Work (one will be labeled 'Company Main') and one Work Fax number"

http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=139635&topic=14252

Thanks again for all your hard work Neuevasync. Hopefully you've got a plan. Competition is good (ish).

Unknown said...

Nuevasync has the same limitation on email addresses for the iPhone...not sure on the phone numbers though. I am not switching though since I use 7 calendars. Great job for all the hard work nuevasync. Keep it up.

I can't get multiple calendar's working on windows mobile using Google's service, so I am still using NuevaSync - currently still the top sync solution.

Endre Stølsvik said...

Is nuevasync and google's own 100% identical sync the same? Did they buy you?

Eric Corbin said...

With the buzz about Google's sync, I decided to try it out. When choosing multiple calendars, all shared calendars are marked as "Read Only" -- even if you have full rights to them. NuevaSync allows you to make changes on shared calendars -- and it works perfectly. And (as mentioned), it only allows 5 calendars. I'll be staying right here with NuevaSync.

pat said...

I've been trying out Google sync today.

Multiple calendars works perfectly, and even better, my iPhone contacts finally sync properly with GMail contacts, and integration of contacts with Google maps from the iPhone works perfectly. I did have to edit my GMail contacts (needs each item on a separate line from GMail contacts web interface).

A negative is the limitation with the number of contact fields, and that the iPhone's extra fields like Birthdays and Anniversarys etc are not yet supported by GMail (but neither does Nuevasync).

Couple that with Google's capacity to scale to a large number of users, in context of Nueva's growing pains in this area (continual upgrades to their servers) and Google are on to a winner.

Sorry Nueva, but I don't think I'll be coming back unless there's a compelling reason. Thanks for your free service over the last 9 months.

Im getting "system error try again later" on my n85 and e71 after 50 or so contacts/calendar entries have synced
