Calendar status now available on the web site

One of the major causes of confusion for our users, and consequently support e-mails sent to us is that we don't sync all your Google calendars. More accurately, we sync calendars that you have permission to write to, and that have timezone information.
The rationale for not syncing calendars that you can't update was that this could lead to devices becoming out of sync with Google. You could change an event from one of these calendars on your phone, but we would not be able to update the event in Google's system. We recently added code to support one-way sync for read-only calendars but found in trials that users didn't always want those events on their devices. So the feature is on hold until we have the capability for users to select which calendars are synced.
We don't sync calendars that lack timezone data for the simple reason that we need this information in order to create the responses we need to send to your phone. Without the timezone we'd either need to guess it, or not sync the calendar. The choice made was to skip those calendars. You can't create a calendar without timezone data using Google's web site, but we have seen cases where third-party applications and sync tools have done so.
A new feature on our site today gives users the ability to see which calendars will sync and the reason for any non-syncing calendars. Simply visit this page to see your list.

This is a great feature, really takes the guess work out of it.

Would be great to be able to check off which ones here to sync.

I would agree with this
would be fantastic to be able to select which calendars to sync until color coding of calendars is implemented

Awesome project this is!
This is exactly(!) where I was looking for... A program syncing my Gcalender without Outlook. And you even pushed it further.

Thanks, please keep this project free for users.

So are there plans to make un-writable calendars acessable via a one way sync? I would love to get this working.

Great news. I look forward to being able to select certain read-only calendars to sync with my ipod touch. Hope you find a way to make this easy to manage.

Smart people -- thank you.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE one way sync! Where's the Paypal donation button??

Reason: I consolidate a bunch of calendars (family, organizations, my own) in one Google account, and I need to SEE them. I know I can't change them, but I need to see them to be able to schedule my own stuff.

Pretty please?

Any update on when one way sync will be available? I like others use Google calendar shared with family and also the national holidays calendars. To be able to see these read only calendars is a must have for me.

Great service otherwise!

I have stopped using nuevasync until the one-way sync feature for public calendars is supported. 98% of the items in my calendar are created by other people. Nuevasync is useless to me if I can only see items that I create/control.

Another vote for the one way sync. I understand the issue of getting out of sync, but I like many others really need to see other peoples calendar entries for this to be useful. Excellent job by the way...

I also NEED 1-way sync so I can view my work calendar (Oracle) side by side with my personal calendars.

Please????

Okay, I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this product! I have been looking for something like this for a LONG time. Great job guys! Add my vote (as if you weren't already working on it) for being able to select/de-select specific calendars to sync. In my case, I copy certain items on our calendar to a "Grandparents" calendar. I hide the Grandparents calendar from view in Google most of the time so I don't have to see certain events listed twice, but they DO show up twice on my iPhone. Not a big deal, but would be nice if I didn't have to see two of everything. But keep up the great work, and be sure to put a donation link on your website! Thanks!

Another vote for one way sync! I currently import my facebook events into GCal and would love to have them visible in my iphone calendar. Same goes for weather and national holidays. If the capability is already coded, please give us the option to make it active.

Keep up the good work guys!
