Sync Status Page Goes Live

One of the challenges for us supporting iPhone and iPod Touch users is that the devices give absolutely no feedback to the user about their sync. They don't even get to know if it worked or not ! The whirring sun thing rotates and bit, and then all is silent. We wanted to provide a higher quality user experience. Since our web site has access to any error information logged when your device tries to sync (we already use this information when answering support tickets), the obvious next step was to provide a way to see it on our web site. This feature has been in development for a while and finally made it onto the live site earlier today. Here's the page. If an error has been logged, the page will display information about how to fix it. There is a simple expert system that understands how to diagnose the most common errors. If it doesn't understand the error then you will be advised to contact our support team.

Very nice. Thanks for the good work.

Also, if feedback matters at all, its correctly identified my iPhone, and that everything was synced up, which it was.

Thanks! This is helpful. It got my phone identified correctly too!

Could I make a request? Could you also display the time of the last sync as well as the status? And while you are at it, any easy to get stats such as number of contacts or calendar records would be nice. These additional information might help diagnose problems when they happen.

Again, thanks for your work.

I have noticed that if I have to do a soft reset, my iphone deletes my exchange account but not the other mail accounts. Is this supposed to happen?

Is Nuevasync down for everyone?

[Could I make a request? Could you also display the time of the last sync as well as the status?]

This feature was deployed earlier today. Currently we only record the time that we last sent or received any data, so if your device is in sync but you have no new events or contacts the last synced time will not change.

[And while you are at it, any easy to get stats such as number of contacts or calendar records would be nice. These additional information might help diagnose problems when they happen.]

We'd like to add this but at present we don't store that information.

Wonderful. This helps.

I can't view the status page at all. It just times out on me--is it down or is this just me? I am not running on a slow connection.

Hi guys and thanks for the great work.

Two questions:

1) I currently have 3 calendars set-up in Google Calendar: my own, my wife's and my daughter's. They're all synced nicely to my device, but ... that's exactly the problem: It would be nice to: A) (de)select which ones are being synced or not and B) being able to select a different color per calendar.

2) is the service going to remain free of charge ? If not, what's it likely going to cost ? 10 USD per year or 100 USD ??
