New Data Center

Service is back up, running in our new Silicon Valley colocation facility. The move to the coast gives us access to vastly increased bandwidth, redundant network paths, highly reliable power and plenty of space for expansion. Plaxo service is also currently working, since we have new IP addresses that Plaxo are not currently blocking.

Good work guys. Glad to hear the move went well. Looking forward to hearing that there's some new features to test soon :)

Your comment about Plaxo not blocking these new IP addresses implies that Plaxo are not happy with you connecting to their API. Is this a fair assumption ?

If so, aren't you fighting a losing battle after all a reverse dns lookup will quickly give the game away ? Or are there other reasons why they were/are blocking your ip's ?

There's no suggestion that Plaxo are deliberately blocking our traffic. Our requests to their API are uniquely identified as coming from us regardless of the source IP address. Rather, that we're inadvertantly triggering their excessive traffic level mechanism. This mechanism works on a per-ip basis. Normally, we have to wait 24 hours for the block to be reset, but since our IP addresses changed last night, we don't.

plaxo back down for me-- guess the excessive traffic limit has been reached.

I'm still having problems with plaxo.
It shows following error:
Unable to login: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer
ERROR INFO: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer

Is the plaxo sync down again...

I'm getting this error with Plaxo:

Valid client state does not exist!

ERROR INFO: SitePlaxoClientState is invalid: null

Yes, Plaxo is down again. We're doing another round of investigation with Plaxo folks as to why this is happening.
